Heads up, this post contains the BEST giveaway ever: Working with crazy talented interior designers for free! Read on . . .
Here I go again with my decorating addiction. But this time it’s different because professionals are involved. So I’m hoping it sticks. The lovely ladies of Havenly generously donated their time and expertise to helping me with my living room. To this point, the extent of my “design” has been mish-moshing pieces together as I found them. The result? A room that looks kind of grown up but not quite there.
In steps Havenly, a service dedicated to redecorating a room in your home . . . virtually. It’s interior design for the 21st Century. At first I was skeptical, but after my final room-renderings were made (above and below), I’m hooked. I plan to use them for every room once we move into a new home.
Want to win a room-make over for yourself? Comment below letting us know which room in your home you want to make over and why. We’ll pick a winner on Friday morning. Good luck!
Still have questions? Below I explain how the service works, step by step.
Step 1: Take the design survey on Havenly’s website so they get a feel for your aesthetic
Step 2: Have a phone call with one of their designers where she will ask detailed questions about the room, your style, your budget, and what you want for the space. You can tell her what pieces you want to keep and what you want to replace.
Step 3: Send her pictures and measurements
Step 4: Your designer will send you two concepts for you to give feedback on.
Step 5: You’ll go back and forth for one more round and she’ll send you a final look (here is mine!) where you can shop all of the products at your own pace.

And the other side of the room

Step 6 is to buy the pieces and put your room together. We’re in the process of this step now. When it’s finish, expect more photos!
If you want to go through this process for yourself, sign up for their email list below and comment on this post letting us know which room you want to redecorate in your home and why. We’ll pick a winner on Friday!

I’d love to redecorate my dining room/living room (it’s a shared space with a bit of an identity crisis)! Great giveaway!
I have a guest room in need of serious help!
I recently moved and my bedroom still needs a little love!
I would have them style our dining room. We recently remodeled our kitchen which is open to it and just can’t figure out how to style it! Help!
I would decorate my bedroom! I just moved in with my boyfriend and want a design that matches our styles together!
hey! great post
I’m halfway through redecorating my living/dining room and totally stumped. Would love some expert help!
I’m moving in with my boyfriend for the first time in a few weeks and we’re merging our furniture/deciding what new pieces to splurge on. This would be amazing, especially for our bedroom!
Dining Room! I have 2 – 3 beautiful antique pieces that have been in my family for a long time, but have no idea how to merge them with my more modern aesthetic. The result has been a room that feels disjointed and empty. This is EXACTLY what I need!!
Hi Julia!!
Our bedroom is in desperate need of a makeover. My boyfriend and I live together in a small one bedroom in Midtown East (Eastsiders represent!).
We love to entertain and host our friends – so naturally we furnished and decorated our living room, bathroom, and kitchen. And I will unabashedly profess that we have yet to do one. single. thing. with our bedroom. We care so much about our home looking good for others – that we invested in every other room except for the one that should truly be a sanctuary for us. If I stare at my blank white walls and bare wood floors for another minute…
We haven’t been able to decide what to do with space and I think this would be the perfect kick-starter!

I would LOVE to make over our living room. As the “hub” of our apartment it should be filled with personality, but sadly it’s a pretty soul-less room with bare walls, renter-hued carpet, and not a trace of individuality. It almost feels like a the living room portion of a hotel suite which is the last thing you want when you spend part of your months traveling for work. Please please please help us turn this space into something we can call our own and love spending time in!

In need to a dining room redesign and this looks amazing!!!
I would LOVE to win a room makeover for my living space! I graduated from college a year ago, and have been working extremely hard in order to save up enough money to have a studio of my own in the city. My dream FINALLY came true and I am moving into my new home next week! I could absolutely use help decorating a studio in a way which makes it feel both homey and spacious, and to not just look like everything is from Ikea! Fingers crossed that I win, thanks for sponsoring this awesome giveaway!
Wish my living room was more fun! Could really use some new ideas
I would absolutely love for our family room to get a makeover! We just moved into our house and am trying our best to decorate. We have a plan for the living but are so stuck on the family room. We have a couch and chair, that’s it. We need help
I would love to decorate my living room. My roommate and I have different tastes and it would be wonderful to find a creative way to show both of our design personalities in the same (small) space!
I would love to make over my bedroom! My husband and I recently purchased our first home after living in an apartment for several years in Hoboken. We always put our four year old son first and rarely do things just for us. We both work full-time (with him commuting into the city every day) and I would love to surprise my amazing and hard-working hubby with a beautiful and comfy bedroom just for us!
SOS!! A recent transplant to NYC my boyfriend and I rent a quaint little NYC apartment on Park Ave. Open our front door and you will find (drum roll please)….a beige couch (sigh). He is quickly discovering the I am no decorating goddess so I could desperately use your help. Consider our living room your blank canvas to create a sophisticated and welcoming space to entertain family and friends. I work in the digital marketing space so I love the idea of a virtual decorating service. Thank you Guardian Havenly Angels!!
I want to redecorate my parent’s family room, because it’s where we gather together when we have family and friends over!
Six months ago, my husband and I decided to prioritize having a nice home so we moved into a bigger apartment that has so much potential. But since then, we have been trying (and failing) to decorate our living/dining room. We desperately want a home that feels both cozy and stylish. We’ve bought some nice pieces but can’t seem to finish the job, for a few reasons. One, we disagree on certain things, or get nervous about “pulling the trigger,” so having an expert from Havenly would solve those issues – just tell us what to buy and we will gratefully do it! Two, we both work full-time and have a 2 year old son who keeps us crazy-busy so finding the time to find just the right decor items never seems to happen. Havenly’s shopping service would be an amazing gift! I would be one happy mama if my home was as beautiful as it could be. Seriously, you’d make my year!
Well I guess we will be making your year then. You won! Will send you an email now 🙂
Omg thank you so much!!! So excited! Best Mother’s Day surprise ever!!
My living room!! I work from home several days a week and as someone in a small NYC apartment, it can be difficult to carve out a ‘working’ space. (Or any space for that matter). As a pinterest addict I’m constantly looking at pictures of gorgeous small office spaces – but can never quite figure out how to put it all together. I am in love with how havenly works..this would be a dream come true!!
Our bedroom! We recently moved from DC to AZ and weren’t able to bring much with us. A bedroom is a haven, and can’t wait to make ours feel that way again!
My dining room! It is a dining room, my office and the kids’ homework room. I would love to have ideas that are functional and beautiful.
My living room!! I thought I i could do it on my own and failed miserably. I have now an ugly green wall that offends my eyes every day and all this furniture that i inherited. its my very first home (town home) and I don’t even want to invite people over because its so awful. HELP. lol
I live in a small old home that hasn’t had updating since we moved in over 20 years ago. My husband and I don’t know where to start. The living room has great bones and I know can be something spectacular! Please help!
OMG this is so genius! I would love to redo my bedroom – It’s been halfway done for ages + I want a chic and crisp but cozy space to feel comfortable in!
This is awesome! I’m moving this summer to NYC, so I don’t know yet what I’d want to do!
My Bedroom! I am a new mom and live in a 1 BR on the UES and need to figure out a way to make my bedroom parent and baby friendly. Could use some help- would be a great first mother’s day gift!
My Bedroom! I have to small children and “my” space in the house could really use some sprucing up!
I would love to update our main room in our apartment. We have been living there for almost a year and we still have a ton of blank wall space. *fingers crossed*
I would redecorate my bedroom!
My idea of a bedroom is the place where you come home and ultimately relax in. Needless to say, my room is far from that and my stress levels feel every second of my time spent there. After living alone for a couple of years and then losing my job due to corporate layoffs, I had to move back with my parents. Now, in my old childhood bedroom at 28 years old, with countless amounts of clutter all gathered while on my own, a job and eight months later, I still don’t know where to begin. I did at some point, I painted my trims white! At this point I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t have a vision of where I want to go and even less how I’m going to get there, which has become overwhelmingly frustrating. I get splurges of motivation and soon, after some trial and error, give up. This has left me with white trims, a pink wall, an oversized re-painted armoire I did myself, and numerous frames and wall pieces I don’t know what to do with under my bed. PLEASE. HELP ME and my non-decorated, cluttered, and aesthetically dysfunctional room. We could surely use the expert vision, advice, and tips. Ohhhhh… and of course, because I would absolutely love nothing more than being able to come home (my room) and relax. Truly Yours, Zee
I just moved in to a new apartment…my first time living alone (no roommates!) I would love to decorate my living room into a functional space for me to work, relax and entertain guests. I living in one of the most historic parts of Boston in a building built in 1909 and would love a professionals’ touch decorating in style!
I got married less than a year ago and my husband and I are moving into a new one bedroom on the UWS and would love to decorate our living room! It’s a “L” shape room and I am having trouble figuring out exactly how to decorate it and would love the professional guidance!
Janet,
I would have a tough time picking a room. I really like them all!!! But I am drawn to the room with the animal print rug…
I would want my living room too. I have a long room that needs help! And have recently merged with my boy friend ( deer head) and all…lol
