This hidden-gem Venezuelan restaurant is a vibe. Super kid friendly and great for lunch and dinner, the empanadas and arepas will knock your socks off! Don’t expect a fancy restaurant but do expect fantastic food that will have you coming back time and time again.
Fairfield County Locals Guide
Flour Water Salt
This cult-favorite bakery makes all handmade, naturally leavened sourdough bread and pastries that are out of this world. I buy their bread once a week and once in a while, I’ll treat myself to their ridiculously amazing almond croissant too. Everything, including the croissants and pizza dough, is made with sourdough so if you have a minor intolerance to gluten, they won’t bother your stomach at all!
A&S Fine Foods
If you’re searching for the best Italian market in FFC, look no further! A&S makes made-to-order Italian sandwiches, delicious pre-made Italian dishes, and offers catering as well. When we moved into our new house, a friend sent us one of their lasagne’s and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Manna Toast
This breakfast/lunch spot serves mostly toasts on a choice of sourdough bread or a sweet potato. Their food is clean, vibrant, healthy, and delicious. I love that they have great dairy-free options like cashew cream cheese. The company is dedicated to sustainability which is always nice to see locally as well.
Mystic Market
This Mystic-based eatery and café also has a Westport location that is great for grab-and-go sandwiches and salads as well as frozen prepared foods. They have a ton of healthy options perfect for road trips, beach picnics, or lunch on-the-go!
Rosie
I can’t believe it took me so long to try this ladies-who-lunch hotspot because it really is fantastic. They serve delicious breakfast and lunch options and have a ton of baked goods like delicious, buttery chocolate chip cookies, and mini cupcakes for the kiddos. I highly recommend the buddha bowl, a healthy lunch option that is filling and flavorful. And I’ve heard that the breakfast burrito is the best in town!
