Fall Boots

Nine West 1

A couple of weeks ago, Nine West asked me to style a pair of fall boots for their Tumblr. I chose this pair of cognac colored riding boots because they are classic and go with everything. They also asked me to share a styling tip with their readers. This was my advice:

“Your mother may have told you not to mix brown and black but the days of that rule are long gone. This fall, pair your brown boots with a black and white outfit for a sleek and modern look. I love wearing mine with black leggings, a loose silk top, chic gold jewelry, and a red lip. It’s comfortable and glamorous!”

These photos came out amazing but let me tell you, it was freezing that morning and my hands were turning purple by the end. They told me to be more serious and not to smile but I couldn’t help myself, I kept laughing. It was like when my sister and I were little and could never stop giggling in church. It’s hard to keep a straight face when you’re told not to smile!

I guess the smiling worked because these are the final shots that they chose to use, all of them involving my pearly whites. It goes to show that you always have to be yourself and your true beauty will shine through. I’m sure that the pictures of me trying to look all sultry and sexy looked ridiculous. That’s just not me!

There’s nothing wrong with mixing brown & black, as long as the brown is more of a cognac/light brown. I do it all of the time.

I love cognac and black together – or just light brown and black together – looks so chic and put together!

I love this look! I am the same way and can’t help but smiling in pictures or else I giggle like a little kid. I’m in complete agreement about black and brown! It is my favorite combination.

Loving that cognac color because it provides the right amount of contrast with not only black, but white, charcoal, and navy bottoms. Excellent choice!
