I can’t tell you how tragic it was to pack up and leave my family behind in New Hampshire yesterday to come back to the big city. Every fall, I go home for a few days and squeeze in as many dorky/fun fall activities as possible which, this year, included apple picking with my mom, a pumpkin festival at Cedar Circle Farm, apple tasting, leaf peeping, a run through the countryside with gorgeous views, eating pumpkin whoopie pies (twice, duh), going to the annual bonfire for Dartmouth’s homecoming, drinking pumpkin ale, and sitting by my mom’s fire.
Oh and of course I wore plaid every day. Because what else is there to wear in New Hampshire in October? I took these photos with my husband in front of my dad’s new house on a quite, lovely little tree-lined street. We helped them move this weekend (not included in the fall fun activities list above for obvious reasons!) and it motivated me even more to take the necessary steps towards building our life around moving out of New York and into our own home. Mind you, very baby steps.
