In two days, Anel and I are packing our bags for our first trip of 2016. We’re heading to Nashville for the weekend to celebrate my friend Cynthia’s 30th birthday. When we originally planned the trip back in September, we had high hopes for warm temps to escape New England’s winter chill, but they’ve been hit with a ton of snow so those high hopes are mostly a pipe dream. The high over the weekend is expected to be 62 so crossing our fingers that it actually warms up. No matter what the weather, we’re so excited to get out of town and have some fun in a city that none of us have ever been to.
It will get down to the 30s at night so I’m packing lots of cozy layers to be prepared for whatever hits us. After so many pink posts lately (Like this drapey blush sweater look and my Valentine’s Day wish list), I did a complete 180 when pulling looks and ideas for our trip. Maybe it was the snow and chilly temps over the weekend but this icy blue and cream palette is on my mind.
I stumbled upon this Ted Baker icy blue coat and it was all over. How incredible? It will be a great transition piece to spring. For now, I’ll wear it layered over cozy sweaters like this grey fisherman or a matchy turtleneck tunic (obsessed with this sweater, you guys!).
During the day, I plan to stay comfortable in simple flat booties and a chic cross body bag to hold the essentials without bogging down my shoulders. And you know I never go anywhere without my trusty S’Well.
If you have any Nashville recommendations, comment below! So far on our list is Adele’s and Rolf & Daughters for dinner, Barista Parlor and Crema for coffee, and a pop into Draper James for some shopping.

Cute! If it’s sunny, it will be great 🙂 I live in Nashville and the places you have planned are great! Also check out Patterson House, Holland House or Pinewood Social for cocktails. Marche for brunch. Steadfast or 8th & Roast are also great for coffee. If y’all have a car and some daytime free time… Take a trip out to Arrington Vineyards. It’s BYO food, so take a picnic, do a wine tasting and buy your favorite bottle for your picnic lunch. It’s my favorite Nashville weekend activity. I have a few Nashville Neighborhood Guides if you want to check them out for a few more recs! (They are linked at the bottom) http://avec-amour.blogspot.com/search/label/nashville%20neighborhood%20guide?m=0
Also, I know you’re always looking for a green juice- Urban Juicer, Daily Juice or Juice Nashville depending on where you’re staying! Or AVO restaurant does fresh juice and organic raw food, it’s delicious. They have great food and an avocado margarita!!! Have so much fun 🙂
Go to Patterson House for cocktails- it’s a great speakeasy without any signage.
Merchants has the best bar for unique drinks/snacks!
One of my favorite cities! While you’re in the 12 South neighborhood shopping at Draper James, also stop by White’s Mercantile for a slightly more hipster vibe and grab lunch at Edley’s.

Kayne prime for Steak, Whiskey bar up the block is great after, Pucketts for Brunch and Urban Grub for dinner- crab spaghetti is amazing (doesn’t sound it, but trust me)
I’m on that icy blue train as well! Posted a powder blue poncho on Monday that I’m obsessed with and I also have an eye on some ‘ice blue’ studs from Loren Hope. Have fun in Nashville and enjoy Draper James! Dreamy!

So fun! I’m originally from Fairfield County, but am currently in Nashville for grad school, and it’s a really fun city! I’d definitely recommend going to Pinewood Social and bowl there if you can! If you go, you have to order the broccoli; it’s the best.thing.ever. If you all have time, I’d do a Sprocket Rocket or Pedal Tavern tour of Broadway. These are basically a spin class that takes you on a tour through the honky-tonk part of town. FYI, they are BYOB. My friends and I made our own mimosas and it was super fun! You mentioned going to Draper James, and I’d definitely walk all around the 12 South neighborhood. 12 South is very cute, it reminds me of New Canaan a bit 🙂 Be sure to stop by Jeni’s for ice cream– the churro flavor is so good!
I love your packing list, so cute! I have never been to Nashville but I would love to visit Draper James!
xoxo,
Katie
