Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The big Nordstrom Anniversary sale opens for early access to Nordstrom card-holders today and will open to the general public next Friday. I’ve rounded up some pieces that I believe are good investments for a fall capsule collection. You can shop all of my picks at any time during the sale on my shop page. I’ll be updating that over the next week. The sale opens to the general public next Friday but things often sell out quickly.

My general advice for shopping this (very good!) sale is to make a list of the things you need for fall before you even look. On my list, I have high-waisted jeans, a great midi skirt, hanky pankies, and new faux-leather leggings. I found great options for all three at the sale and plan to buy all of them at 12:30 today when the sale opens. The other thing I’ve been on the hunt for is a fabulous moto jacket and I’m going to buy this one today in hopes that it fits well.

If you want to treat yourself to something fun that you want but don’t need, obviously go for it, but be smart about it and only buy something that you’ll actually wear. Don’t shop just to shop! The one fun thing I buy every single year is the Diptyque mini candle set because it includes all of my favorite scents and it’s the most affordable way to buy Diptyque.

I always start shopping this sale with jeans because they’re a piece of clothing that you’ll wear for years to come and you can get really high-quality denim at a great price point. And sizes sell out quickly. My top choice this year are these Madewell jeans that I have in white and love. They’re a flattering fit and super comfortable. They’re originally $135 but marked down to $89.

The leopard mules might seem random but I bought them during this sale last year and get so many questions about them. I wear them daily in the fall with jeans and skirts. They’re a really great buy and on sale for $69. In fact, I’m clearly feeling leopard in general for fall. This cardigan (not pictured) is on my list as is this dress. I am a big believer that leopard is a neutral and not just a trend.

You can see everything in the image above listed below and shop my full list here. Have a great weekend!
