My dad always says that the 4th of July marks the end of summer. Clearly this is a ridiculous statement, and I like to think of it as the peak of the season. A time of year when summer hours start at work, families come together to barbecue, and a beach trip is a necessity. Every year for as long as I can remember, my family and I travel to my Aunt’s lake house in Rhode Island for Jet-skiing, tubing, tanning, and lots of eating.
I always want to rep some patriotism at the party, but over the top stars and stripes outfits creep me out. This year I put together a little ensemble that is the perfect understated amount of red, white, and blue.
Given that Monday is a holiday, and I’ll be partying on a lake, eating lots of Watermelon Salad, you won’t see a new post until Tuesday. Sometimes even bloggers need a day off. Have a great weekend and happy 4th of July!
