My family and I have spent the last 5 incredible days exploring the Bay Area together. Today is my last day on the West Coast before heading back to New York and I’m already missing this beautiful part of the country. We celebrated a lovely Thanksgiving with my mom’s husband’s family on the beach (it was pretty cool to watch the sunset outside on the beach in November), hiked in Palo Alto, explored San Francisco, and I was a bridesmaid in my uncle’s wedding on Saturday night.
My favorite day of the trip so far, however, was going wine tasting in Sonoma Valley. My mom, sister, husband, and I drove out for the day and started with a wine tasting/food pairing at Partake in Healdsburg. The lunch started out with a black wine glass full of “mystery wine” and we had to guess what it was. It’s hard to figure out what you’re drinking when you can’t see the color of the wine but I guessed right because I’m apparently I’m a wine genius (it was chardonnay).
We then ordered a bunch of small dishes paired with incredible local wines and got slightly tipsy and very full. We ventured on to a couple of wineries starting with Ferrari Carano where we took these photos and casually tried 20 varieties of wine. We next ventured on to a few other vineyards and ended our evening with a crazy awesome dinner at Chalkboard.
I am now, more than ever, inspired to head out to Long Island and do some wine tasting in my own neck of the woods. Does anyone know where to go/what to do?

I’ve been dying to go wine tasting in Cali! I’ve yet to make it to the North Fork (planning for the spring!) but I have been wine tasting in the Hudson Valley and could definitely make some rec’s! Its a perfect day trip, especially during the fall!
I’m so jealous of your trip. I’ve been trying to get up there for about a year now and you inspired to me to book the trip. Do you have any tmore tips?
Looks like so much fun! I love your olive pants, such a fun change from denim!
