Our 2017 Holiday Cards

Lemon Stripes Holiday Card

I love sending out our holiday cards every year, but this year’s card is definitely our best yet. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out so I thought I’d share all of the deets with you.

The Cards

Our cards were custom designed by Carrie & Seash, an amazing mother/daughter team who also painted some animal prints for Amalia’s room a few months ago (now available for sale). I actually chose to go with them because I really wanted to have Boots in watercolor worked in and just love their work so much. I have some of their monogrammed stationary (which would make a great gift, BTW) and used their cute bow gift tags for all my wrapped presents this year.

I told Seash that I wanted Bootsie’s bow tie to match the pattern on the back, and she made that come to life perfectly! it’s all in the details, you know?

The Photo

I went back and forth between a full family photo and one of just the baby, but in the end we went with Amalia only because she’s a whole lot cuter than the rest of us will ever be! Carter captured the most beautiful picture of her as you can see clearly below. At first I wanted one with her laughing, but I think this one captures her perfectly: A little bit mysterious and always very focused.

It takes about 100 photos to get a good one of a baby (literally) and I love that her foot is still a little blurry in this one because it really goes to show that the kid never sits still!

The Dress

I searched far and wide for the perfect dress and landed on this Ralph Lauren plaid flannel (currently on major sale!) because I wanted something with blue in it to highlight her amazing blue eyes. She’s barefoot because that’s how she is most comfortable, and I didn’t want it to be too formal.

These are beautiful! I love the addition of Boots- such a cute way to include him while keeping the focus on Amalia.

We skipped being in the photo this year for the first time- figured it was enough to wrangle a 4 yr old, 2 yr old, and dog 🙂 It was kind of nice not dealing with being a part of it!
