I remember when my mom turned 38 and I thought she was so old. I joke about pushing 40, but besides the fact that I fall asleep before 10pm every night and have a few more wrinkles every year, I don’t feel old. I feel vibrant, happy, and more alive than ever. And, honestly, I’m excited for the next decade of life!
This is what 38 is looking like for me…

No more babies in the house! Now that Luca is 2 (and change) and talking and walking and being more of a little guy and less of a baby, it feels like we’ve entered a fully new phase of parenting that involves no babies. And let me tell you, I am here for it! Even though toddler life is much more intense than baby life in many ways, I love it. I love making him laugh, I love watching him learn and grow, I love seeing him play more and more with his sister. This age is very physically demanding (boy moms, you know!) but so emotionally fulfilling.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but Luca is my little ray of sunshine. He’s such a sweet, happy, loving little boy and I’m so lucky to be his mom. And I’m so happy he’s not a baby anymore 🙂
So many projects… In last year’s post I wrote that I was ready to do something new and exciting and man have I ever! Since last year’s birthday I signed my book deal, opened the Lemon Stripes Market, and finally got the nose job I’ve wanted for over 20 years. I can’t believe that all happened in the span of one year and I’m still kind of reeling from it. In a good way.
And guess what? There is even more coming down the pipe. I have two brand product collaborations coming in the next year that I’m very excited about. That is all I will say for now, don’t hate me!
Sober curiosity. Last October, I stopped drinking alcohol. I’ve learned a lot about myself and my relationship to alcohol since then, and I am looking forward to seeing how the next year pans out. I have drinks here and there now but I have not gotten drunk or had a hangover since then which is wild. If you want to hear more about this journey, I was a guest on The Sober Mom Life podcast earlier this year. Give it a listen.
