Amalia’s Colorful Back to School Edit

We have T-minus three weeks until Amalia’s big Kindergarten debut. I hold back tears daily about this fact while she jumps off the walls with excitement. It’s fine. I’m fine (wah).

What does get me all jazzed up, however, is the back to school shopping. Oh the sweet smell of new pencils, the look of a fresh backpack that will stay fresh for all of 3 days, and bright white sneakers.

Amalia (and I) love color. This seemingly never-ending neutral trend is not for us so for the 7 people out there who enjoy color as much as we do and also have a young daughter, we’ve got you covered!

Hanna Andersson: Amalia loves their skater dresses and this one is on her list for the first day of school. We also picked up two of these patterned sweatshirts if the weather ever takes a turn. Random aside: they make great kids undies and we just picked up a new pack.

Gap Kids: Always a classic. On our fall list is a corduroy skirtall, a simple waffle-knit dress, and this cute cardigan.

Boden: If you’re a color-lover, Boden is a great place to start. Their quality is fantastic and the clothes are so cute. A few favorites this season is a pink blockprint dress, the perfect 5-pack of leggings,

Joules: Amalia’s picks include this striped rainbow top, and colorful floral leggings.

Maisonette: We bought these sneakers, and have our eye on a chambray smocked dress and a very cute name necklace.

Old Navy: The price is right on their leggings and the fit is the best for Amalia’s tiny body. I also convinced her to get a denim jacket. I cannot! This smocked top in pink was her favorite on the site.

J.Crew Factory: I actually prefer Factory to Crew Cuts for kids clothes. The price is right and they have a lot of great colors and patterns. How cute is this corduroy skirt? They also have great simple tees, patterned leggings, and solid sweaters. Amalia practically begged for these sparkle booties too.

Carter’s: A striped skater dress, this cute legging and chambray top set, and a scalloped-sleeved tee are at the top of our list. We also love a tutu dress in our house and have this one in three sizes.

Crew Cuts: We love their crewneck sweatshirts to throw on when it gets chilly, and I think this sweater is just darling. Their leggings are a little big long for her but if you have a tall girl, these are so cute.

Primary:  Hands-down the best basics for kids. We love their PJs and solid tops/sweatshirts.

The Children’s Place: Also great for basics with a really great price, this 4-pack of long sleeved tees is perfect for BTS. And I’m very much here for an 8-pack of leggings!

Janie & Jack: We usually only shop here for fancier occasions but I couldn’t help myself with this puff-sleeve sweater shirt. And I’m drooling over this striped ruffle collar top.

Nordstrom: They have a great selection of kids stuff. Their Tucker + Tate brand is our favorite. We just bought these leggings, this dress, and a colorful assortment of socks.
