Last week, I told you about my fabulous houseguest, Terra. Not only is she an awesome person and friend, but she’s an expert on raw food and superfoods. Every day that she was in town, she made us super awesome superfood smoothies that were full of flavor and gave us boosts of super-charged energy to get us through the day.
As you can tell by my recipes page, I’m a big smoothie fan, but this one had an extra kick with goat milk probiotics. Goat Milk Probiotics are an excellent addition if you aren’t allergic to dairy. She talked about how they put healthy bacteria into your gut and help to aid digestion.
Terra also taught me that if you need more protein in your diet (with my race, I definitely did!), it’s great to add in some Spirulina (we used it in powder form, Green Vibrance). It’s a complete plant protein and is especially helpful for athletes.
Ingredients:
-1/4 cup coconut water
-1/2 cup Goat’s milk kefir (probiotics) or cashew milk for dairy free
-1/4 cup Sambazon Acai Supergreen smoothie
-1 tblspn Green Vibrance powder
-1/4 cup frozen blueberries
-1/4 cup frozen strawberries
-1 banana
-1/2 tblspn flax seeds
Directions:
Blend and enjoy!
This is similar to one I do now but I’ll have to try with either of the milks. Sounds yummy.
