Around the House

Kitchen Table

Table / Chairs / Monogrammed VasePrint by my husband

This weekend, like all weekends lately, between hosting my in-laws and a dinner party with friends, we worked on the house. It’s endless, I tell you! But so rewarding when another project gets done and it starts to feel that much more like home. Although none (literally none!) of the rooms are complete or ready for a full tour yet, we’re making major progress so I thought I’d share some snippets along the way.

Our kitchen nook (above) is starting to look pretty cozy. I kept it simple and cute with a classic tulip table and a durable indoor/outdoor rug that can withstand all types of spills. The entryway (below) is far from complete. I can’t wait to show you the fabulous nailhead table and navy x benches that will eventually live under my Gray Malin print, but for now, I improvised with a lucite table and some topiaries.

The list of changes to be made goes on and on but I hope you enjoy the current state of our decor. For the first time since we moved two months ago, I finally feel happy coming home to our house. And let me tell you, that is an incredible feeling after feeling out of place for so long!

I can totally relate to owning a new home and learning the art of patience as you gradually fill each room. We didn’t complete our living room for years! (And I’m still searching for the perfect lamps.) LOVE your adorable breakfast nook and that lucite table for your entrance. And I’m obsessed with palm print accent pillows….yours are inspiring me to switch out my current pillows. They look so crisp and fresh!

Love the pics of your new home, it looks like it is coming along great! I saw the pic of the front of your house from a few posts back and realized we are actually neighbors! (I live on the same street, just around the bend). It’s a great neighborhood, enjoy! Just be sure to have lots of Halloween candy on hand next year!!!
