One of the things I’m most excited about in the new house is having a formal dining room. In Manhattan and our current apartment, we have a small kitchen table that I try to dress up but it doesn’t compare to a real dining room whose full purpose is to be a beautiful space for eating.
I’m working with Decoraid to create the design but the only thing we’ve settled on so far is the paint color, Stiffkey Blue. We have white wainscoting along the bottom half of the room, so I knew that I wanted to contrast that with a dark color on the top half of the walls. Beyond that, I’ve shared my desire for a sparkly chandelier and a few other details from the images in this post but I can’t wait to see what my designer, Alex, comes back with!
If you have any dining rooms that you love, post the link in the comments below. I want as much inspiration as I can possibly get.
Side note: A ton of you have asked about where our new home is. We bought in Stamford, CT!
Hi Julia! I’ve been a Lemon Stripes reader for a long time so its been so exciting to walk all these new transitions in your life! Congrats on the house! I’ve been daydreaming about moving into my 2nd New York City apartment, which will hopefully be slightly larger than the first, so I love all these decor based posts! I definitely won’t have room for a dining room in my apartment, but here’s a pin of a bright dining room/kitchen that I really love! https://www.pinterest.com/pin/199847302192356556/
Have a great day!

LOVE the chippendale! I found a great chippendale chair from Ballard — check it out! Not too expensive! 🙂

Hi, Love this style. Where did you find those chairs? Although they’re probably not in the UK but i have been looking for that style. Not so easy to find! Thanks!
Love the dining room wall color. What is the gray you used.
Anyone know the wall color
