My sister, Lauren, is due with her second baby and my second niece (YAY!) at the end of this month and I am beyond excited to meet her. Her first daughter, Helen, is such a light in our lives. She is a happy, chatty, beautiful little gal and makes me so proud to be an auntie.
I designed Helen’s nursery (pictured below) two years ago. Lauren had a beautiful antique dresser and I based the space around that. She wanted a botanical vibe and I think I nailed it if I do say so myself. PS I’ll link everything from both designs at the bottom of this post.
Helen’s Nursery Design
For bébé deux, I designed the room around three pieces that she already had: 1. The grey rocker from Helen’s room, 2. the white dresser that used to be in Luca’s room, and 3. the vintage rug that was in our dining room (Anel told me recently that he hated it which was a sad day because I am in love, but the second-best thing is seeing it in my niece’s future bedroom!).
My sister wanted a bright and happy pink and white nursery so I created just that starting with what she already had. The blues and browns in the rug give the space a perfect amount of dimension.
This nursery is moonlighting as a guest room so we didn’t have a whole lot of space to play around with. There is already a queen-sized bed and nightstand that we had to work around.
I found a low-profile bookshelf that fits perfectly on one of the walls. When I was there a few weeks ago, we filled it with books and toys. It looks great.
Over the dresser which will also act as a changing table, we hung this pretty waved-edge mirror and I chose a few other pink-hued prints for the walls. Amalia has this Un Deux Trois print in her room too.
