Being Authentically Me

Sometimes I get intimidated by other fashion bloggers. They have fabulously posh styles and are always flaunting the latest from top designers. It’s hard to be a player in that game when that’s not really how I roll. My style is clean, New England, preppy, colorful, and those qualities aren’t necessarily considered “fashionable” to most people. But I love the way I dress because it makes me feel happy and comfortable and expresses who I am.

I don’t follow very many trends, and just stick to what feels and looks best to my untrained eye. And I love that about my style!

I want to thank you all for reading my blog and supporting me so that I continue to be authentic and true to myself instead of focusing on what other people are doing. It’s so easy to get caught up in comparisons and whenever I start to do that, I’ll get an email from one of you telling me about how I inspire you. Those emails and comments and tweets keep me going. I love you all!

I totally follow my own style. If I like a piece I figure out how to make it work for me, not how the runway tells me to wear it. Ps. LOVE your coral pants in the pic up top

Your ability to be authentically, wonderful you truly inspires so many people. A lot of us don’t want to necessarily wear the top fashions, but want to know how to express ourselves through the way we dress- and thanks to you, it’s so much easier. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked to your blog to be like “okay…I can wear this and it makes sense” or had the courage to pull my hair out of my face, throw it up in a tight bun and love how that looks. You are wonderful, Julia! Cheerio!
