2014 was all about bright colors and mixed patterns. For some reason in 2015 so far, I’ve been craving simplicity. In the food I eat, in the food I cook, and in what I wear. I’ve found myself wearing grays, neutrals, and blacks (like this incredible long black cardigan, under $25) every day this year. Even taking these photos for today’s partnership with Target, I only added the scarf last minute because it was so cold out!
So my current mood is simplicity. I know that isn’t a traditional “mood”, per se, but it’s how I feel. I’m a Cancer, so I’m generally very moody. Target asked me to describe 4 moods that make up my personality and how I dress for each one. That is harder than it seems, but here is my list:
1. Anxious: I’ve touched on that before. But I have a lot of anxiety that, as I grow older, I’m learning to tame. When I’m feeling extra anxious, it helps me calm down to get dressed up in a look that makes me feel my best.
2. Excited: As easily as I get anxious, I can get excited. When I hear good news, get a new partnership, or score at work, I get overly excited and show it outwardly. I have a hard time containing my emotions in general but when I get excited, everyone around me knows it. When I’m excited I tend to wear brighter colors and more patterns to reflect my mood.
3. Driven: I have a hard time relaxing. I like to work work work and constantly be on the move. When my sister visits, she is constantly telling me to sit down and relax. My response is usually, “Why? I have time to get stuff done!”. I like to wear athletic leggings and a loose tee so that I can run errands, do laundry, take Instagram photos, write blog posts, and move furniture (it happens) comfortably.
4. Cuddly: When I actually do relax, all I want to do is sit on the couch, cuddle with my husband, and watch a movie or binge watch whatever show we’re currently addicted too. This is rare, but when I get this way, good luck getting me to move or do anything else. Outfit: Full on sweatsuit, baby! With thick, cozy socks of course.

Sometimes I feel anxious too and a nice dress makes me feel better. Your outfit is beautiful and the bag is stunning

I love how honest you always are with your readers, Julia. It’s great to see that you’re a real person too!
Also, that scarf is the absolute best! I got it for Christmas and it’s so cozy!
I have been looking for a good white tank like that for ages- is it see-through at all?
