Leopard Coat

Leopard and Plaid

We “fell back” yesterday, and man did it make a difference! On the plus side, I’ve been waking up at 6am and getting a ton of work done in the mornings, but on the negative side, it gets dark at four effing thirty which is a major bummer. Slash I want to go to bed at 8pm… but what else is new?

Luckily, during the daylight, Connecticut provided us with two beautiful sunny fall days this weekend. On Saturday, I woke up early for a photo shoot, and then Anel and I spent the day in Westport with Boots. We took him to the dog park and then to the beach with our friend Alex. It was so stunning, and probably one of the last warm, sunny days we’ll have this year which made it extra special.

The night before, we had a really fun date night at Tarry Lodge (Fun tip for you locals, they can make all their pasta dishes with gluten free fusilli!) which put us both in a great mood for the whole weekend. We realized that we hadn’t done our usual weekly date in over three weeks, and it made a difference! It’s amazing how you can connect in a different way when you have dinner in a new environment with no phones or home distractions.

On Saturday night it cooled way down, so I finally had a good excuse to wear my fabulous faux-fur leopard print coat. In fact, that night I repeated this exact look for dinner with my sister at Harvest Wine Bar. This sweater is so cozy and soft, and I may never take it off again, tbh.

I finally pulled out my Arizia vegan leather leggings (They’re the best and worth the investment but these look really similar and are less than $30!). You’d be surprised at how often vegan leather leggings come in handy. I turn to them a lot with OTK boots in the winter. Side bar about my oldie but goodie clutch: It’s still available and on sale for 20% off with free shipping as is everything at Mark & Graham today!

Yesterday, my sis and I drove up to Rhode Island and back for my cousin’s wedding shower, which was an adorable Pride & Prejudice themed tea party. And that brings us to today where I’m biting down my nails and having major anxiety over tomorrow’s election. I hope that you’re all planning to vote tomorrow!

I LOVE this leopard coat! So pretty. Makes me excited to pull out the faux fur coat I bought. It just hasn’t been cold enough to wear it!

Hi Julia, seems like you had a really fun weekend! I must admit, I am more keen on your look without the coat. I find the mix of different patterns is a little bit too much for my liking. However I love seeing you wearing red lipstick, that is super glam! Can’t wait to read what you’ve got in stock for us this week;)! Hugs, Julie

Love, love, love your coat! I’ve been considering vegan leggings (I’ve heard they are great to wear on long flights), they look so cute on you, you’ve inspired me to try them out! Sleeping in an extra hour was a real blessing but like yourself, I was ready for bed at 8! Why does it have to get so dark so early? 😀 xx Rox-Anne, Celebratingthislife.ca

They are the BEST. You should definitely try a pair. And I feel you on the early darkness thing. It’s no fun!

Holy cow, Tarry Lodge is nothing like it was when I was a kid growing up in Greenwich. The one in Port Chester was an institution.
