I love the rare occurrences when Anel agrees to step out on the other side of the camera lens. He’s so handsome but has no idea (which is the best kind). Lucky for all of us, he agreed to join me in today’s post! On Saturday, we drove to Brooklyn to visit friends for dinner at their favorite local restaurant, Farm on Adderley. We had had a very intensely emotional week (more on that later), and were in desperate need for a night to let loose, laugh, have a few cocktails, and overeat farm fresh food. We got just that.
Cynthia and Michael, the friends we were visiting, are the kind of friends that feel like family. We laugh together, we cry together, we can be 100% ourselves around each other, and we always have a great time. It’s rare to find friendships like that, especially as a couple. As I grow older, I learn the value of these friendships more and more each year.
Saturday was chilly but we knew we’d be walking a lot so we opted for lighter fall layers. I’m a vest addict and this green Vineyard Vines hunter vest is my favorite of the season so far. I love the gold details and suede shoulder patches.
I wore it over a great cashmere sweater that drapes perfectly alone or pairs well with a plaid shirt. I opted for the plaid from my friend Jessica’s new collection. I apologize in advance for the over-wearing of these jeans over the next few months but they’re literally perfect: the right color, just the right amount of rip, and they suck you in without feeling too tight.
