Wait, let me back up for a second to clear things up… I’m not, by any means, ready for fall to get here. I want summer beach days and lobster rolls, and my tan lines to last forever! I’m just prepped for when fall does arrive, because I shopped the sh*t out of the Nordstrom sale. And there is still time for you to do the same. It is August 1st after all, which means fall is just around the corner, whether we like it or not.
In fact, I went to target last week to pick up some stuff for a BBQ and instead of outdoor summer gear, the “seasonal” section was filled with backpacks and notebooks for back to school. It brought me a wave of nostalgia for the Augusts of my youth, but also made me want to scream, telling everyone to hold their horses!
Last fall, I bought this blouse and now have it in four colors (white- shown here, black, olive, and teal). Between my sister and I, we have every color they’ve ever made and it has become, hands down, our favorite blouse for cooler months. The long back makes it great to wear over leggings and boots (my uniform at work last winter), and it’s great quality, especially for the price (under $30 during this sale).
When I find something that I love, I try to buy it in as many colors as possible and sticking with it. The same goes for jeans. I’ve fallen in love with Hudson Jeans (not sponsored btw) and now try to buy their jeans whenever possible. I love the way they fit and flatter and the perfect amount of stretch. I decided to pick up a new pair in black for this fall. Now is definitely the time to buy pricier items like jeans because they’ll never be on sale for less (as far as I know). This pair started at over $200 and I got them for under $140. Not bad, right?
Now a little lesson on why every blogger, myself included, is pimping out this sale like crazy… it’s how we make money, folks! As you know, we get a kick back from affiliate links and the Nordstrom sale is our bread and butter for summer. I know it can feel a bit pushy, but I wouldn’t be reminding you so often if it wasn’t truly the best sale of the year. I don’t know any other one that marks down brand new items at such a deep discount.
Have a great week, friends!

I appreciate your honesty about bloggers mentioning why they promote the N-Sale so hard! I think you’re the only one that I follow that has disclosed that so far.
Love this look. Simple yet chic.

Julia, you always impress me with now down to earth and honest you are! I LOVE your blog – there are a handful I’ve been reading for years and yours is a newer one in my queue but you are seriously my FAVORITE. (Adore your snapchat too!!!) 😀 Have a wonderful weekend!
Oh my gosh, thank you!!! So happy you’re following along 🙂
It doesn’t appear to be from your photos, but do you find the white version of this blouse to be see-through at all? It looks fabulous on you!
You definitely need to do another look like this! It’s five years later and everything is still in style. What color is you Kate Spade Byrdie in? Is it mulled wine, mahogany or dark plum? It gives a pop of color. You just look absolutely stylish and stunning.
