The 4th of July is hands down my favorite holiday. It always has been because of the food (hello steamers and hot dogs!), the sunshine (usually), and my aunt’s epic 4th of July party where we spend the day eating and drinking at her lake house in Rhode Island. Every year I go tubing and every year, inevitably, I have sore arms for a full week afterwards.
This year, as we do every year, we’re heading up to Newport for a few days with my family and I am beyond excited for a beach day, the party day, and some fun adventures in between.
These days all holidays, including the 4th, are never really just one day so multiple outfits are a must. I imagine myself wearing this look with flip flops to a BBQ, or as it is in these photos for a dinner out on the town next week!
These chambray bow shorts are super versatile and could be worn with a bodysuit, tank top, or striped tee. They’re also on major sale. J.Crew sent them over with a few other pieces including this dress but in navy which I’m probably going to wear on the actual 4th with these red earrings that I can’t seem to stop throwing on lately.
J.Crew is having a sale this week for the holiday, so be sure to check it out. Select pieces are up to 50% off, including my current favorite dress that comes in red and navy! Prices are as marked on the site.
Now let me pause to hyperventilate for a second. Working with J.Crew has always been a goal of mine, and I recently had a meeting with their marketing team and had to pinch myself afterwards. 10 years ago when I started my blog, I never in a million years would have imagined that J.Crew would be interested in what I had to say, but they were, and that felt like a major blogging milestone for me!
