Update: Giveaway closed. Congrats to Carrie and Sarah Ann!
The last week has been a tough one for me personally and an extremely tough one for all of us globally. Personally, I had a really scary experience that shook me to my core. If you missed the story on Instagram, I went for a vitamin IV drip with a friend for something different to do on a night out together. I had an adverse reaction to the magnesium sulfate in the drip and my throat closed, my lips and cheeks swelled up, my heart was racing, and I saw stars. When it finally ended, I had severe cramps for about 30 minutes and was shaking and freezing. I had never had anything like that happen before and I literally thought I was dying. It was one of the most terrifying things that has ever happened to me.
It took a full two days to feel like myself again, and I’m feeling more grateful than ever for my health right about now.
Globally, it feels like the entire world is falling apart and (literally) burning to the ground. There are too many things going on to even mention them all but the ones weighing the heaviest on my mind are the seemingly endless amount of mass shootings that have me scared to take my own daughter to public places (help by donating to Everytown), the Amazon fires (see how you can help here), and the families that are still separated at our borders (5 ways to help migrant families right now).
So today I just want to step away from all of the heaviness and share two pretty dresses that make me happy. And spread that happiness by giving two of them away. It’s also a reminder that it’s ok to take a minute and lighten up when things are dark and stormy. That said, I encourage you to stay educated, donate your money and/or time if you can, and spread the message about what is going on in the world.
Just because fall is around the corner doesn’t mean you have to dull down the colors and patterns. Why not wear bright green leopards and hot pink stripes, you know? Lilly Pulitzer sent me two very different dresses for early fall and I’m very into both of them. The first is an amazing maxi dress in the most beautiful shade of green covered in leopards with pink detailing it. I belted it but you definitely don’t have to and it would be a great bump-friendly dress for all you mamas-to-be out there. If you like the pattern but not this dress style, it also comes in a Palazzo pant (so fun) and a romper.
The second is a form-fitting sweater dress that hugs your body in all the right places. I love the colors on this one and the way it makes me feel feminine and happy.
Comment below with which dress is your favorite and where you would ear it. I’ll give away one of each to two lucky gals! PS this giveaway isn’t sponsored by Lilly Pulitzer, I will be buying the dresses for the winners.
