This weekend was the the first one in 6 weeks that we weren’t traveling. Being home felt glorious. Our summer adventures have been so much fun but it was like a breath of fresh air to not have to pack a bag (or unpack on Sunday night for that matter), drive in traffic, or fly anywhere. I felt like I could sit down and take a few breaths for the first time in a long time. At one point I said to my husband that I was excited for fall so we could have more relaxing weekends like this one. Then I remembered beach days, tan lines, and summer nights and took it back…
Anel and I had our first date night in weeks which was much needed. All you married ladies feel me, I’m sure! We went for a little pre-dinner stroll at the beach to take these photos. Although we moved to Connecticut almost a full year ago (where did all that time go?), we haven’t really been able to enjoy summer here yet. Taking this romantic walk on a quiet beach is something that we could have only dreamed of when we lived in Manhattan so we fully appreciate and treasure moments like this.
I had wanted an excuse to wear this A-line polka dot skirt (only $42!) for a while, and Anel loved this outfit so it was perfect for our al fresco date at Terrain Café.
In addition to our cute little evening, I ventured into the city for a facial with Bonnie (If you’re in the market, book her now as her waiting list is growing by the second!) and a ladies lunch with Hitha at Jean Georges which felt very Sex & the City. On Sunday we beat the crazy heat with a beach day and then had friends who just moved to town over for a BBQ which was the perfect end to the weekend.
Now it’s back to the grind but I feel relaxed and refreshed, ready to take on the busy week ahead!

My hubs and I have been in CT together for a few years and feel the same way… I always enjoy a weekend at home this time of year. I’ve been to Terrain for brunch, need to try for dinner sometime. Cute outfit, great backdrop!
