Seersucker for Summer

You can’t spend a summer in New England without some serious seersucker in your life. These tiny stripes have continued to stay in style for decades and come back to life every year when the weather warms up. Seersucker fabric not only looks bright and sunny, but it’s light and doesn’t need to be ironed which makes it perfect summer-ware. Fun fact that I just learned is that the word “seersucker” comes from the Hindi words “shir o shekar” which means milk and sugar. Apparently the smooth and rough texture resembles the smoothness of milk and the bumpiness of sugar. Thank you wikipedia!

I’ve passed the Sperry’s wedges in store windows for a month now, I think it’s time to seal the seersucker deal!
