DIY Cherry Red Dresser

{Book: Vanity Fair, Journal: J.Crew}

My fiancé loves DIY projects. I wanted to add a pop of red to a bare corner of our apartment (seen below), so he agreed to redo a plain white ikea dresser into a cherry red side table. The same day that we added the dresser, we also put in a new bed, so it was quite the mess in here for a while.

He followed these directions carefully, making sure to use a primer, two layers of cherry red spray paint, and a coat of sealant for extra shine.

I decorated it using knick knacks that we had around the apartment. My favorite piece on our new side table are the blue Jonathan Adler nesting trays, an engagement gift from family friends. I also love the cluster of a lime green journal that says “Adventures I went on and liked”, a vintage camera, and a citrine crystal, all sitting on top of my favorite coffee table book, Vanity Fair Portraits.
