This post has been a long time coming. You have been asking for a tour of my home office for months now and I’m excited to finally share it. It’s a room that is 100% mine, where I spend most of my days working so it’s extra special for me. Now you know what my whole house would look like if I didn’t have a husband who hates the color pink! When we first moved into the house in November, this was the first room that I started working on.
Turns out I was right. During the workweek, if I’m not out on a shoot or at a meeting, I spend most of the day sitting at my desk with Boots by my side, working. It’s an inspiring space for me because it’s bright, beautiful, clean, and just has good energy. It’s definitely my favorite room in the house.
The fact that I can have a home office like this is somewhat surreal considering I’ve spent so much of my adult life in one-bedroom apartments in the city. I feel so lucky to have this space and am grateful for it every single day.
I have four main “vignettes” in the room:
- My desk area- Where I work, obviously.
- My filing cabinet/vanity- Where I store all of my files and documents. I often use this mirror for my make up because it gets great natural light
- My rolling rack– I keep clothing for upcoming shoots here
- My reading nook- I love sitting in my striped chair with a book and Boots by my side
You can find more photos of my home office plus my five tips for keeping the space tidy (they’re really good, you guys!) over on The Glitter Guide today. Scroll down for details on where to buy everything in this post. I hope you like the tour!

I love it! The bright white walls make the space look so airy. The blues and pinks also look gorgeous. I’m currently still in the 1 bedroom apartment phase of life so both my boyfriend and I have our desks out in the living room- I can’t wait to have my own space down the line. What a fun project to work on!
I love how this turned out! My favorite part is probably the desk with the bold brass legs! Quick question… you referenced printers in your Glitter Guide post, but I don’t see one in sight. Is that tucked away in the credenza/filing cabinet except for when you need it, or is it just out of the photos? The hardest part for me is where to put the “unsightly” objects so that they don’t overpower the whole look.
Julia, your home office is to die for! Thanks for the tour. Love your style!
Such a beautiful office! I would love to work in that space every day!
You really know how to put together a room Julia! It is perfect!

I love it Julia – nice combo, good colours and a very fresh feeling – but your desk does not look that big. Do you find you have got enough room even when you have additional documents on the table etc? Also, would you mind sharing where you got your phone cover, it’s super cute. Thanks! Julie xx
