TV watching has changed since having a baby, that’s for sure. Gone are the days of binge-watching anything besides the baby monitor. Anel and I usually watching one episode of something each night and then we’re spent.
That said, in the winter months, we spent many of her weekend naps trying to sneak in two eps of our favorite shows. Here are the binge-worthy ones that I’ve been loving over the last year… Even if I can’t binge them anymore!

The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu): I couldn’t be more hooked on one show if I tried. Season one ended where the book originally ended so I wasn’t sure if this season would live up to the first but boy has it done that and more. It’s so terrifying but well done, and I’m dying to know if Offred will escape or not in the end. What do you think?
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime): To offset the horrific scenes in The Handmaid’s Tale, I like to watch Mrs. Maisel the night after. It’s so positive and happy and just fun to watch. There aren’t a lot of shows that I’m hooked on that aren’t intense or dramatic, but this one does the job. Plus Rachel Brosnahan is hilarious, charismatic, and beautiful.
Queer Eye (Netflix): Speaking of positivity, the remake of Queer Eye is pure love. I cried in all eight episodes as the Fab Five gave eight straight men life makeovers and newfound confidence. I’m also madly in love with Antoni… Why can’t he just be straight, single, and in love with me back!?
Billions (Showtime): When Damien Lewis left Homeland, I was devastated (I’m perhaps too invested in that show) so when he popped up on Billions, I had my popcorn ready to go for the pilot. Anel and I have been watching it ever since. This season has been my least favorite so far but still can’t quit it. There’s something about a glimpse into the life of the uber-rich that is so fascinating to me.
The Affair (Showtime): The first season of The Affair was one of my favorite pilot seasons of any show ever. I was so sucked into it that it got a little weird… I think I binged most of it in a matter of days. You’ve all been there, you know what I mean! Nothing has compared to the first season but it’s back for it’s fourth right now and I feel quite invested in the characters and story lines. I’m also mildly obsessed with Dominic West, nbd.
Patrick Melrose (Showtime): We haven’t actually started this but we keep seeing previews when we watch Billions so it’s next on the list. It looks so good and the role is seemingly made for Benedict Cumberbatch. Has anyone watched it?
Grace & Frankie (Netflix): There are no new episodes right now but I urge you to watch this show if you’re in need of a pick me up or a good laugh. The premise is that two business partners fall in love with each other, leaving their wives in the dust. The wives, played by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, end up becoming besties and even starting a business together.
Ozark (Netflix):I just read that season two of Ozark is confirmed and potentially coming back this summer. Any further insight into this would be greatly appreciated! Anel and I binge-watched season one last fall and loved the spooky scenery and Jason Bateman’s creepy character. The whole thing was eerily beautiful. Fun fact, when I was on The TODAY Show, I had my make up done next to Jason Bateman and we smiled at each other. Basically best friends, right?
Homeland (Showtime): The latest season just ended and the next is supposedly the last. Boo! Homeland has been one of my top shows since it first started and there was only one season (ahem, five) that really disappointed. It always feels very current politically and definitely keeps me on my toes! I usually can’t watch it before bed because I get way to riled up and anxious.
The Wire (HBO): Anel and I started The Wire last summer after we realized that neither of us had watched it despite my dad trying to convince us that it was the best show on television ever. We watched it from beginning to end and although a lot of the topics felt dated, it was engrossing and amazing. I finally understand why people loved it so much!
What have you watched lately that I need to add to my list?
