Ever since my parents got divorced (many years ago), the holidays have been a little sad for me. Similar to my Thanksgiving emotions, the holiday season brings me all the feels. I tear up when the nostalgic songs come on and when I see lights twinkling everywhere. This year is the first one where I’m genuinely so happy that the sadness hasn’t hit… yet anyway.
I know I sound like a broken record but I’m so grateful for my baby girl, and am looking forward to Christmas for the first time in 10 years. Literally! I can’t wait for Jackson and Amalia to get their gifts from Santa, and to see how she reacts when she plays with her new toys. I don’t care if I get one gift, as long as she’s happy, I’ll be a happy mama.
We decided to get her one bigger present from “Santa” so that Jackson sees her getting something, then we’re going to fill her stocking with little things like teethers, socks, and small toys. She’ll get so many presents from friends and family, that we decided to keep it at that.
She has a few holiday looks for Christmas Eve, to meet some of my friends, and for Christmas day.
Today I’m sharing one of her many outfits and just dying over these photos. Those cheeks are amazing. And the oversized bow kills me.
I knew I wanted her in a big red bow and plaid and ended up settling on this dress after looking at way too many! I love the navy and red and how comfy and soft it is for her. This dress was actually my first choice but it was sold out in her size, although I seriously considered buying it for next year and then realized that was insane… Or is it?
Anyway I paired it with a super soft pair of tights and thought that these sweet gold Stuart Weitzman baby shoes would be perfect, but she kept kicking them off as you can see in the photos below! I got everything in this post from Nordstrom’s baby girl clothing section which is stacked with so many good things.

Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post. All opinions, as always, are 100% my own.
Girl, she’s the cutest! Love her Christmas look! My kids really turn around my Christmas too, it’s hard when traditions change and I don’t see all the family I used to, but seeing Christmas experienced through kids is so magical ✨
Aww thanks! I think so too 🙂 And I’m beyond excited to see Christmas through her eyes.
Our baby boy has the kick and play piano and we love it! She is adorable! Babies truly make this season so magical!
Yay so glad he likes it. I can’t wait to give it to her.
That piano mat is the BEST!
Oh man, her “surprised” face (looking over your shoulder) is just the cutest. And for the record, I don’t think there’s anything crazy about buying the dress for next year’s holiday – I’d say go for it!

It’s so funny, she makes that face all the time and she looks totally crazy but I think it’s adorable haha.
Not crazy at all to buy for next year – especially if it’s on sale! It’s always a little bit of a gamble to guess at the size, but as they get older and their growth slows, it gets easier.
Love your gift giving strategy! My mom always got us 3 gifts — “because that’s how many baby Jesus got!”. Once you hear the reason why, no one dares to question why they didn’t get any more. Wishing your family a safe and merry holiday!
She’s beautiful! Hope the holiday season is wonderful for your whole family!
My quick opinion- go for it and purchase next year’s dress! You’ll be delighted in October:)
Aw I love the little plaid dress!
her cheeks are amazing. happiest of holidays.
