Happy Friday! It’s officially sweatah weathah here in New England, and this summer baby shockingly doesn’t hate it. There’s something so cozy about working from home with the windows open, a crisp breeze drifting in, and a sweatshirt-and-blanket combo that just hits right.
Back-to-school season, on the other hand, has been a little… aggressive this year.
I’ll be honest, fall decor (or any seasonal decor, really) just isn’t my thing. The one exception? I do love a Christmas tree moment… but I’m also ready to take it down on the 26th. Am I a Scrooge? Maybe! My kids certainly think so, which means every year I cave and add a few pieces to our home that feel festive each season without taking over the whole house.
I feel like I never know what kind of shoes to wear anymore. Can we please just go back to skinny jeans with riding boots? At least I knew how to do that properly! Instead of giving into the trends that make my head spin I'm trying to stay classic but updated to the current times.
Back-to-school season means settling back into a more regular work schedule, and we’re thoroughly enjoying the return to routine as a family. What I didn’t expect, however, is how late 3rd grade activities run which has definitely thrown us for a bit of a loop. The upside is that it’s pushed us to be more intentional about planning our weeknights which is good for my type A personality.
