Apartment Inspiration

According to my husband, I have issues. I get obsessive about decorating our space and then 6 months to a year later, I want to do it all over again. He's probably right but it's my thing and I can't help it! We were planning to move downtown to a bigger space in April but after many talks over the holidays, we decided to stay uptown in our current apartment and start saving some real money to leave the city and buy a house in the next couple of years.

Breakfast Quinoa

It's so freaking hard to get back into a healthy routine after the holidays. I always tell myself that come January 1st, things will be different. But I can't just stop eating sweets and extra salty food in a day, it takes a few to ween myself off. I finally feel back on track, eating like my normal self and feeling more energetic and less bloated.

Winter Wear

Last week's weather really threw me for a loop. We started the week in Portland, Maine, where the temperature didn't rise above a balmy 10 degrees (brr). We returned to the city on Wednesday only to find ourselves preppy for a Nor'easter that covered the city in a sheet of white.

It's hard to stay fashionable in these conditions so I've found myself going with the flow.

The first week in January is always an interesting one. It's full of excitement and hope about the new year ahead but there's also a slight sadness at the fact that we have to say goodbye to all of the Christmas trees, sparkle lights, and the general magical feeling that the holidays bring.

I feel motivated to hunker down, get shit done, do a cleanse (I'm starting a 3 day juice cleanse c/o Pressed Juicery next Monday!) and stop eating and drinking like it's my last day on earth.

2013 Highlights

2013 has been an amazing and crazy year for me. It started last January with quitting my full time job to start my online boutique and blog full time. I spent a few weeks in Indonesia and Tokyo and then came back to working for myself full time (lessons learned on that here).

I made so many incredible friends in the blogging world (especially my girls Kat, Hitha, Hallie, and Jessica), started writing for The Glitter Guide, attended and covered my first NYFW, and then went back to work full time again in November.
