I’m super excited to announce that I’m officially doing my second official blog re-design! It’s been over 5 years since I started this little sucker and it was time to shake things up and streamline the look and feel of Lemon Stripes.
I’ve hired the incredible Victoria, one of my most talented girlfriends. She is crazy organized and has set up a whole backend system for us to thoughtfully and efficiently communicate throughout the process.
One of her first tasks for me was to set up a hidden Pinterest board and pin images that will eventually inspire the design of my new site. I’ve been having so much fun with this and thought I’d share some of the beautiful images that I’ve pinned so far.
I found myself pinning a lot of striped shirts and bright home images. Not sure where that will take us yet but the photos I picked either make me feel good or just have the perfect color-palette.
I’d love to hear from you. What do you want to see for Lemon Stripes? More options to navigate? More shop-able links? More color? Less colr? Let me know! I do it all for you, at the end of the day my friends.
The new site will launch sometime in April, but I’ll keep you posted as we get closer.
I love your blog and it’s style, maybe I’d choose more shop-able links

Based on these images, it looks like there is a lot of clean white and black lines, and less color! I really like that look for you because it’s a little more mature, just like your site is now, as opposed to where you started or this version.
Maybe run with that, and use yellow as the accent color. I also think you could pick a really cool, clean sans serif font as your main font that embodies this type of image you’ve pinned.
PS. I often take a look at your Instagram for inspiration. You do a really good job at trimming the “visual fat” and posting pictures that are only really in line with your brand – a lot of clean white with pops of color. While each image can stand on their own, they do a really good job of creating a cohesive brand look together. Just keep that in mind when the going gets tough – this is what you’re good at!
Can’t wait to see the new look. xo
I 100% agree with all of this and I love the direction that you’re going!
Hi, Julia!
I love the direction you are going with the site from what I see in the images you are pinning. I actually prefer that clean white background. Websites feel brighter and more welcoming. Plus, it’s not a distraction away from the content you work so hard to create. That’s a clever idea Victoria came up with for you to create an inspiration board that way you two can be on the same page throughout the process. I know from personal experience how easily things can go awry when you and the web designer are not on the same page on how the site should look and function. Can’t wait to see the redesign. Best of luck.

I love sites with clear minimalist designs with a lot of white space. Easy to read fonts for those of us who live on laptops is also a plus.
Yay!!!
So excited to see the finished product!
P.S. I totally thought that first image was you at first glance. 🙂

I actually love the layout of your current site. Clean, bright and cheery. Maybe add some more outfit posts and mix it up with some polka dots or floral too.

I would like to see a search bar to make it easier to find specific content. Recently discovered your site and LOVE IT!!!!
Very good!
