Happy Monday! We had a rough weekend with a stomach bug that made my little one miserable for two days, but today we seem to be back in action thank goodness. My heart breaks into a million little pieces when Amalia is sick. It’s a feeling that I never experienced before motherhood. So to see her on the mend means I can finally breathe again today.
The weekend was a stark contrast to the ridiculously amazing two days I spent in Palm Beach with Julia last week. Man is it a beautiful place. I understand why all the billionaires have homes there. If I had a billion dollars I would for sure do the same.
When the Palm Beach Outlets invited me down to experience their mall in Palm Beach, I was like well duh, when’s the next flight?! Confession: I’ve never actually shopped at an outlet mall before last year because I thought it would be stressful and way too crowded, but it’s really not at all. This one was actually calmer than a regular mall because it was outside and spread out. Plus I could tan my arms in between shops which didn’t hurt anything either!
The stores we checked out were:
J.Crew Factory
Janie & Jack
Saks Off 5th
Polo Ralph Lauren
Le Creuset
Ann Taylor
GH Bass
Carter’s/OshKosh
LOFT
Brahmin
The only reason we stopped is that we were hungry, tired, and my wallet was telling me no, but I could have shopped all day. I mainly bought spring/summer clothes for Amalia (some pictured below) and was most excited because she finally fits into Crewcuts which is a day I’ve been long awaiting. It was also nice to get major deals at Janie & Jack which is usually up there in price. The other awesome score was that I found these shoes for $59 off at Saks Off 5th. I have them in the flat version and had been wanting the wedges. It was basically a sign that I had to have them, right?!
I didn’t make it over to the other side of the mall but I love that they had a Whole Foods and Nordstrom Rack too. Shucks, looks like I’ll just have to go back…
While we were in town, we stayed at the iconic Colony Hotel, which was even dreamier in person than it is in the photos. The old school glam vibe is beyond luxurious and I felt super fancy the whole time. We spent most of the trip taking photos for blog content but took a few hours off by the pool on Thursday afternoon. We ordered green juices and sipped them over ice with our feet dangling in the water. Pure heaven, let me tell you.
Even when we were working though, it was so much fun. I got to wear all of the fabulous clothes that I’ve been dreaming of wearing back here in Antarctica. And I felt really confident and beautiful once I got dolled up on this trip, a feeling that I haven’t had in a while for whatever reason. I’m posting a perfectly Palm Beachy outfit from the trip tomorrow, and check out my all-time favorite look if you missed it last week.
It was also really nice to be somewhere sunny and colorful and full of life. It feels so dull around here lately, and I got a creative burst of energy that felt really good.
In tomorrow’s post, I’ll go into where we ate and other things we did!

Thank you to the Palm Beach Outlets for flying us down and for The Colony Hotel for giving us a discounted rate. Photos by Julia Dags.
I am headed to West Palm Beach next week and definitely looking forward to scoping out Palm Beach. Confession, I really tried to get a hotel in Palm Beach but my husband wasn’t having the prices. Will be fun to go over there for dinner and shopping though. Can’t wait for some warm weather!
ps. you pull of high waist bikinis so well, makes me want to try them!
Oh the prices are INSANE. But go for happy hour because the people watching is unreal, truly. And HMF at The Breakers is a must if you can get over to the island twice! Loving the high waist trend. They cover up all the bad spots haha
Lol, back here in Antarctica ๐ So glad to hear Amalia is feeling better, it is the worst feeling when the little ones are sick. Even worse is when you don’t figure it out until you get sick and realize how bad they must have been feeling… that’s happened to me a few times…
Love your outfit in the JCrew pic above and the outfits you picked out for Amalia too!
Hahah it’s actually kind of warm (ish) today but still too cold for me! That is the WORST. But I also think that kids bounce back a lot quicker than we do, so that makes me feel slightly better. Slightly.
OMG I WANNA GO!!! The Colony is the BEST place to take some photos, and Palm Beach in general is a great backdrop!! I love that Lilly dress you wore, it is such a fun length and style!! Can’t wait for upcoming FL getaway! If only I was going back to Palm Beach .. ๐ Excited to see more of the trip!

Thank you thank you! And enjoy your trip!!
How was the humidity? I’m trying to convince my husband Palm Beach would be a good option for our family vacation this year, but he’s convinced that it’ll be hot and humid since its in Florida.
It wasn’t bad but they were having a “cold front” so I think it was less humid than usual. What time of year are you planning to go? It’s on the water so that helps too!
Loved seeing you on IG during your trip! A New Englander in FL at wintertime is the best!
It doesn’t get any better. I wish I could go down every weekend!
Love all the photos! Looked like so fun! Glad you had some time to relax and get away from the cold. You look fab!
It was the most fun! And thank you ๐
For a while now, I have been following your blog (as well as similar ones) for entertainment and fashion recommendations in attempts to look and feel a little better about myself. However, an unintended consequence of this has been my utter fascination with the whole “blogging lifestyle”. I sit baffled at the complete lack of acknowledgement that the role of PRIVILEGE plays into your ability to do this work.
Perhaps it is your intention to target a specific socioeconomic group, but your recommendations for fashion, home organization and design, vacations, work-life balance, child care, food, and self-care routines are simply unattainable for most people. This goes completely unacknowledged, not just by you, but by many of your colleagues in this field.
I am not posting this to shame you, but in the hope you would considering adding some perspective and self-reflection into the way you present your life and recommendations in this public format. Simply, you are able to do this work and make certain choices because you came from a white, educated, wealthy, and sheltered upbringing.
This is a really good point and I thank you for being honest and bringing it to my attention. The lifestyle is completely over the top and unrealistic and I, for one, would never be able to afford all of the trips that I take if I weren’t going as press. I try to be very transparent about when products are gifted or when trips are paid for, but I need to think harder about how to message your point.
I would love to hear some ideas about how you think I can add more perspective and self-reflection about the way I present my life. I’m open to them and strive to be as honest and transparent as I can.
Thank you xx
