I’m writing to you today with my toes in the sunshine, coffee in hand, from beautiful Bar Harbor Maine. Last Friday, my sister and husband and I drove up to our home in New Hampshire to spend some time with my parents and baby brother, and then drove 5 hours FARTHER north to meet up with my giant and crazy extended family for a few days of a family reunion.
So far we’ve eaten lobster at every meal (no joke), hiked up Mount Cadillac (even my 78 year old step father made it to the top!), and have been sitting the porch of our rental house, soaking up the beauty of the stunning bay. It’s been absolute paradise.
Last night, we sipped G&Ts before going out to our lobster dinner (see the view I’m looking at below). I know that I have to drive (9 hours) back to New York tomorrow, but I’m trying to scheme ways to stay here forever! Last week I mentioned that my mom had a health scare and it threw me for a loop. Seeing her in person and knowing that she’s ok finally allowed me to sleep through the night again and I never want to leave her side again!
