Apple Picking

Fall Uniform

Vineyard Vines sweater and oxford, c/o J.McLaughlin vest, old Lands End scarf (similar), AG denim, c/o Clarks booties

Last Sunday, my husband and I decided that we had to go apple picking like every other preppy person in New England before it was too late with our friends Meg and Chris. We drove the 20 minutes to Silverman’s Farm which was way more packed than I could have imagined. We likened it to the Times Square of Connecticut. Luckily we were all feeling adventurous and hiked off the beaten path a bit to eat too many apples in the shade. We went home with two bags of apples, two boxes of apple cider donuts, cider, and memories from a fun day in the ‘burbs.

I wore my usual fall uniform (if you’re sick of my stripes and plaid yet… too bad!) with my favorite sweater paired with a plaid scarf (per usual) with the addition of this thin quilted vest for warmish fall days. Meg happened to be matching, so we took;

I always find it hard to pick shoes for this kind of adventure. Most boots are too warm, flats don’t have enough support, and sneakers were clearly not an option! I found these booties on Zappos from Clarks’ new collection which are both stylish and comfortable. It felt like I was walking on a layer of padding which, after a few hours of exploring, was quite necessary.

    Love that outfit! The colors in the scarf look so nice with your shirt/vest. I have a lot of small orchards in my area, no frills, so I always wear waterproof boots like my hunters or bean boots for the wet grass! Will you be posting a delicious apple dessert!? I hope so!
