Stripes for Spring

We’ve had two gorgeous days in Connecticut over 60 degrees this week which is basically unheard of in February. Yesterday it got up to 73! I took a walk on the beach with a friend last night and there were kids in bathing suits… In February. What is going on? Climate change? Yes. But does it feel so so good? Also yes.

It seems as if every year around this time we get one or two really warm days just at the point when I feel like I’m going to lose my mind with all of the winter-ness. I’d be willing to bet that we’ll get another snowstorm or two in the coming month, but the sunshine and vitamin D has been giving me life this week.

It’s back to cold and gloomy today but I don’t even care because the burst of warm weather was just what I needed.

Everyone has been busting out their spring clothes, I joined the masses and finally wore this shirt that I’ve been waiting to put on for months. It’s still available in a few sizes and I can’t recommend it enough! The cut, color, and pattern are all just perfection for spring and summer.

I don’t know if you can tell from the photos but it’s more of a blouse than a tee so would look cute for work paired with a pencil skirt and heels but can also be dressed down in the summer with a pair of shorts. I did a little pattern mixing and used the warm weather as an excuse to break out these gingham flats but I think are just so sweet.

I never do pattern mixing, I’m going to try and step outside of my comfort zone and start, it looks so great to have stripes and gingham together! I love those flats, they are so cute! The earrings are great too. Spring has sprung! Woohoo!

It’s old from J.McLaughlin but one of my all time favorites! So classic.
