Black Tie Ready

Last weekend we were invited to a black tie surprise birthday party for a friend of ours. Because it was at someone’s home and wasn’t a wedding, I figured a fun black jumpsuit would be a fun little twist. I was definitely the only one there not in a dress, but I also got more compliments on my look than ever before!

For $150, this jumpsuit packs a serious punch. First of all, it has pockets which means I could keep my phone on me (in case of babysitter emergencies) at all time as well as lipstick for touch ups. Secondly, the big bow on the front is the cutest touch. But the real zinger for me is how flattering it was.

I also swapped the lip for my favorite bright pink, Nars lipstick in Schiap. My new friend Khira came over to do my make up, and I haven’t felt so pretty since maybe my wedding day… No joke! She and I talked about doing a few beauty posts together, so let me know if that’s something that interests you. For local people, I can’t recommend her enough for make up. She’ll come to your house and get you dolled up for any kind of event or photo shoot.

Getting dressed up in something so fancy was the most fun, and I hope I have an excuse to do it again soon!
