Over the weekend I finally started to feel in the holiday spirit. Maybe it was the holiday parties we attended, maybe it was because for the first time since we’ve moved, we were able to have some down time in the house to enjoy sipping (dairy free) cocoa by the Christmas tree, maybe it was because of the 8 million presents we wrapped, or maybe it was these fabulous red pumps that came in the mail from Vogue (what?). I’ll never know, but I know one thing, I suddenly can’t wait for Christmas!
Only two more days of work, and then we’re heading home to New Hampshire on Wednesday for over a week and I’m getting giddy over spending that much time with my friends and family and taking a break from work to reset and refresh for the new year. My resolution for 2016 is to be better at practicing self-love, but I’ll talk more about that in tomorrow’s post.
We took these photos in front of our front door that, when we moved in, was ugly and brown. My husband painted it with Farrow & Ball’s Stiffkey Blue, we added this gold door knocker, threw down a personalized doormat that we haven’t been able to use since we got it as a wedding gift three years ago, and topped it all off with a beautiful boxwood wreath that I kind of want to keep up all year. Making a few small changes to the door makes the entire house look different… Our neighbors even came over to tell us so!

The door looks fabulous! It’s great what just a few small tweaks can do! Merry Christmas 🙂
