Nine Classic Fall Coats

Classic Fall Coats

Last week on Nantucket (I’m sharing all of the details from our trip on Wednesday), it went from summer to fall weather before our eyes. Although I’m afraid of another 8,000 month winter, it felt really nice to wear a sweater and jeans without sweating profusely. This weekend, the smell of fall was in the air again and I think it might just be here to stay.

On one of our Nantucket afternoons, it started to sprinkle, and luckily I had thrown this yellow raincoat in my bag at the last minute. I was helping out with a big shoot for my friend’s company, Chappy Wrap, and threw on the coat over what I was wearing… The blue door was behind me as I was organizing props and we literally had no choice but to take photos!

It felt like a 90’s J.Crew photo shoot with the colors and location and I decided to nix my post for today to share these photos in it’s place as well as a list of my go-to classic fall coats. It might be one of my favorite set of photos ever… Especially the BTS one below of me climbing up onto the porch.

Although a bright yellow slicker might not seem all that practical, I find myself wearing mine all the time in the summer, spring, and fall. But if I had to pick one classic fall coat it would be a Barbour. I have and love both the Beadnell waxed jacket and this quilted jacket,ย and think they’re equally amazing so I can’t pick a favorite. They are an investment but I’ve had my Beadnell for almost 10 years and have had it re-waxed only once. It looks perfectly worn-in.

Yes! But it’s oversized. This is a small and it was nice and big and cozy (in a good way).

it’s so true how many coats you need for fall! I’ve definitely been wearing my raincoat, better sweater, patagonia fleece, jean jacket all in the last couple weeks. Just as excited for cozy oversized sweater season ๐Ÿ™‚
