And we’re off! Today we make our 4 hour trek home to my dad’s house in New Hampshire for a week of eating, present-opening, Christmas music, laughs, and lots of plaid. Being there with my little brother Jackson makes it so much more fun. His excitement about Santa and Christmas morning is infectious and beautiful. Every time I’ve spoken to him since Thanksgiving he says, “Do you think this will be the best Christmas ever?”. It makes my heart melt!
A few weeks ago, I caught up with the Loren Hope team about holiday traditions. You can read the full post here but here are a few of the questions I answered for them about my holiday traditions.
Favorite dish for the holidays?
Pecan pie for days. My aunt makes it with dark chocolate chips and it’s divine
The night before Christmas Eve, my family always hosts “pizza night” where we (you guessed it!) make pizzas and drink lots of wine. It always becomes a competition for the best recipe. Wait until you see what I have up my sleeve this year!
Go-to holiday cocktail
I make an old-fashioned with squeezed juice from a clementine and a clementine rind. It’s so good, it was featured on Ivankatrump.com!
Any Holiday outfit styling tips
Mix and match your plaids! Try a buffalo check clutch with a plaid shirt or a gingham oxford with a plaid blanket scarf. Add a bit of sparkle and it does the trick every time. Example here.
Happy holidays to all of you! Thank you for following along and I hope the next week brings you peace, love, and happiness. xx
