Rainy Days

Aquatalia Boots

We had quite a dreary weekend here in Connecticut. It has been cold and drizzly since Friday, but I kind of loved it. Getting cozy at home with a blanket, a good movie, hot tea, and my husband felt really nice… and so different from our summer weekends. On Saturday, we ventured into Westport to run some errands, do some fall shopping, and grab lunch.

Rain was in the forecast, so I took my new Aquatalia waterproof boots for their first spin. When Walin & Wolff (a store based in New Canaan) reached out asking me to try them out, I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that there is a line of boots (a bunch are on sale!) that look chic but are completely waterproof. I love this style but also love these booties.

Note: Just heard from a reader in the comments that this is one of Kate Middleton’s favorite brands, so I looked it up and sure enough she struts around in them quite often!

I paired them with my favorite favorite plaid shirt that I’ve wanted for a few fall seasons now but it always sells out so quickly. I finally snagged it this year, yipee! The best news? It’s currently 25% off and still available in most sizes if you want to jump on it.

I also love this Barbour coat that has a slimmer fit. It’s actually also on sale right now and available in a few sizes! If it isn’t available in your size, this one is similar. If you love Barbour coats, but can’t invest in one right now, this jacket is one of my favorites (I’ve had it for four years now) and is a fraction of the cost.

In other news, you might notice that I’m finally not wearing sunglasses in this post! I generally wear them when we shoot outside because I have insanely sensitive eyes, so it looks like I’m squinting hard and tearing up if I go without them. On Saturday when we took these photos, however, it was pretty overcast and I had on a hat for the perfect storm. Yay! I have eyes!

Nothing like a good Barbour + some plaid to ring in fall! Love those boots-Aquatalia suede boots have been high on my wishlist for awhile (sort of how people are about the 50/50s)…the waterproof part is incredible! Also the brand is a Kate Middleton favorite so really, can you go wrong?!

Adorable outfit! I’ve been eyeing that same J.Crew shirt…but I’m currently wearing one as we speak that looks almost identical to it (obviously from J.Crew also) and I haven’t been able to decide if I can get away with having both!

Love this look for rainy days! I always feel like I’ve piled on random pieces in the rain but have been trying to actually buy rain pieces that will look nice.

And I’ve been wanting a Barbour coat forever!

I had a rainy weekend too and could not have been happier! It was great to cook something in the crockpot and lounge under blankets with the hubby and kids all day. Loving this outfit and the cheaper jacket option is awesome! xx Rox-Anne, Celebratingthislife.ca
