Summer Bucket List

Happy summer, friends! Although the real start of the season isn’t for a few more weeks, I’m counting it as now because Memorial Day to Labor day, obviously. Bring on the rosé and s’mores. Bring on beach days and and sandy baby toes. Bring on the hot dogs and grilled pizza. Bring it all.

I spent the first half of last summer super pregnant, and the second half with a newborn, so it was basically a wash and I was so sleep deprived I don’t even remember most of it.So this year I need to make up for lost time and have some fun!

I want to be spontaneous and adventurous and show my daughter new things and new places. I want to get out more and work smarter not harder.

I want to wear flip flops everyday and dresses like this one as often as I can.

And I want to cross each and every item off of my summer bucket list.

Summer Bucket List

Family beach day with the baby (hopefully more than one!)
Take at least five “Summer Fridays”
A Saturday at Blue Hill Farm
Make homemade lobster rolls
A family hike around Lake Mohegan with Boots
A trip to Newport (already planned)
A trip to Martha’s Vineyard (already planned)
Take my birthday off of work and spend a day alone at the beach if it’s nice out  (OMG the most excited about this one, not gonna lie)
Plan Amalia’s first birthday party
Have a girls rosé party
Give Amalia her first ice cream
Go paddle boarding with Anel for a day date
Do a 5-day Sakara cleanse
Play mini golf
Make s’mores as often as possible
Plan my sister’s bachelorette party
Go to an outdoor concert

What’s on your summer bucket list?

Your list sounds amazing! I can’t wait to make lobster rolls and go paddle boarding myself. There’s a state park where you can go boarding and kayaking and it always looks so fun! xAllie

AMEN, Sister! My sweet little girl (Piper) was born just a few weeks after Amalia, so your second paragraph is identical to what I told my husband last week. 😉 Love your list and am adding a few of your ideas to my current. Oh…and I’m ordering that dress right now! xoxo

Since I’m a teacher I get to spend the summer with my kids & now that my son is 2 they can both actually participate in things this year! Last summer I attempted it & learned my lesson when he tried to crawl onto the stage at a puppet show at the library, then screamed outside with me while his sister watched.

The year before he was only a couple of months old & then the summer before that I was pregnant & vomiting, so pretty much my 4 yr old daughter hasn’t had great summers with me yet, haha. This will be the year!

Yes! It’s the best. I love The Atlantic for lunch and The Port Hunter for dinner (both in Edgartown). A day walking around Vineyard Haven. State Road for brunch (or dinner) if you can make it out there too!

If you want to go out at night, The Atlantic turns into a dance party after the dinner crowd leaves which is always fun 🙂

Another great addition to your summer list could be “Shakespeare on the Sound” in Rowayton. Also in my town they have outdoor summer theater, “Kiss me Kate” in New Canaan. Both great events!
    Love your list!!
