Spring has finally sprung in Connecticut and you better believe I’m swapping out all of my winter clothes ASAP. I never want to look at my heavy sweaters again!! I started the switch yesterday and was reminded of all my favorite preppy summer dresses in the process. I wore one of them in Florida and it felt so good to just throw it on with a pair of Jacks and call it a day.
I picked out a few favorites this season below and reviewed my favorite preppy dress brands.
If you want to shop more summer dresses (and shoes!) in person, join me with Sail to Sable and Jack Rogers at the Jack Rogers store on the Upper East Side (1189 Madison Ave) this Friday from 3pm-5pm. Any New Yorkers want to come hang? I can’t wait to meet some of you!

Preppy Dress Brands That I love
Sail to Sable: The silhouette in the photo pictured above is their classic style (it’s sold out in the red stripes but you can get the exact same one in navy here). I have probably 12 different colors and patterns because it’s great for pretty much any occasion in the summer. The founder of the company, Jen, lives near me and has become a friend. She’s about to have her first baby, and you know how I feel about supporting female entrepreneurs… especially moms!
Persifor: Speaking of female entrepreneurs, one of my good friends Alex started Persifor and makes the most flattering dresses on the planet. I’m not kidding, every single one I’ve ever worn looks great… And I’ve tried all of her cuts at this point (it pays to have designer friends haha). The other great thing about her colorful and whimsically patterned dresses is that they don’t wrinkle, ever. You can throw one in your suitcase or overnight bag and wear it the next day without having to steam it.
Tuckernuck: This preppy online retailer carried both of the brands I mentioned above plus so many more. The prices range from under $100 to over $700 so there’s something in every price point.
Gal Meets Glam Collection: Unless you live under a rock, you probably saw that last weekend Julia of Gal Meets Glam launched the most beautiful dress line I’ve ever seen. Her attention to detail, the beautiful colors and patterns, and pretty silhouettes have made her brand new collection an instant hit.
1901: I mentioned this other new preppy brand in a post a few weeks ago and I just ordered a few more of their dresses for summer. The quality is great, especially for the price!
Draper James: Reese Witherspoon knows how to do Southern prep the right way. I love her dresses and styled one recently here.
In the name of transparency, just wanted to let you know that although this blog post isn’t sponsored (aka I’m not being paid to write it), the product was gifted to me and I was paid by Sail to Sable to write about the event on Instagram. I decided to make it into a full blog post because I love the brand and am excited about the event!
I wish I could go to the store event – that sounds so fun! Come to South Florida!
I love Persifor (and am so excited to get my GMG dresses) – I’ve heard about Saul to Sable so much I can’t wait to check them out. xAllie

I’d LOVE to be in South Florida, trust me haha 🙂
do you have any suggestions for preppy style for women over 5’10”? These dresses are adorable but way too short for a tall girl – thanks!
My sister is also tall and the 1901 dresses are a great option for her because they’re midi length. Check them out on Nordstrom!
I loooooove Sail to Sable! SO much!!! You look adorable! I hope everything went okay with your CT scan– I saw your Insta stories yesterday, so I need to look again and see if you got any results. Praying for good news for you!
