Yesterday I randomly popped into J.Crew while running errands because I saw that their big 40% off Labor Day sale had been extended (it’s still going on btw). I had planned to just browse and then I decided to try out these jeans on a whim. I’m not really a trendy kind of gal when it comes to jeans. I wear the same styles for literally years and get nervous to branch out.
But I’m so glad that I decided to try them on because they are super flattering and comfortable, and look a little different than any other pair I own. Plus they were 40% off which was just the cherry on top. I love how they’re high waisted but not too trendy, and the button detail looks so chic. If you end up buying these jeans, I recommend to size down as they’re pretty stretchy. I originally was drawn to the same pair with more of a distressed look but the fabric was thicker and seemingly better quality on the pair I ultimately walked away with.
Anyway…
My surprising denim adventure made me even more excited about fall clothes, so I thought I’d share my September wish list today. While I’m still working on shopping more in my closet and less in stores, I definitely want to supplement what I already have for the upcoming season.
Starting with this plaid shirt. My long time followers will remember this Topshop plaid that I had a few years ago. People freaked over it and it sold out in a matter of days. Whenever I wear it on stories or post about it, I get a million questions and I’m always sad to inform you that it has sold out. To this day, it’s my favorite plaid shirt that I’ve ever owned… And I grew up in New Hampshire so that’s really saying something.
Luckily, Topshop made a similar version this year with a different but equally as amazing plaid and I snapped it up in about 0.2 seconds when I saw it.
If you love that pattern but want a more affordable option ($29) with a more classic cut, this one from J.Crew Factory is amazing too. Speaking of one of my favorite retailers, I always have to include my favorite leopard fall flats in all of my fall wish lists because they’re seriously the best buy for $54 and I wear them constantly.
They take 2-3 times to break in then are so comfy and look great with pretty much anything you could think to pair with them.
Lastly, I know that this bright yellow Dudley Stephens fleece is a little outside of my color comfort zone but I kind of love how bold it is!
