Amalia’s Sweater / Bow / Teddy Bear / Rug
Happy Friday! I don’t know about you but I had a great week despite the big snowstorm. And after a string of really bad weeks, I felt even more grateful for all of the positive energy. At the beginning of the week, I started burning Palo Santo every morning after finally buying a bundle of it and feeling desperate after a weekend fighting off a stomach bug. I swear to you, the moment I started burning it, the positive vibes kept coming my way so I’m not going to stop anytime soon. For my fellow hippie followers, you get me. The rest of you probably think I’m absolutely crazy but don’t knock it ’til ya try it, guys!
In other pos vibe news, Anel and I started a new weekly tradition after feeling a little disconnected lately: At-home date nights. We did our first one on Tuesday and it was so restorative for our relationship. After dinner we put away our phones and iPads, opened a bottle of wine, lit some candles and sat in our fancy living room, chatting and just connecting in a way that has been rare since we had Amalia. And we didn’t even have to pay a babysitter.
In addition to that, I was both productive and able to spend time with Amalia without feeling stressed about work. All in all, I’m heading into the weekend with a good outlook on life and hope that I can send some of that energy your way too!
High & Low
Highest moment: On Tuesday I had a string of good things happen one after another, which felt really amazing and set the tone for the rest of the week. We found out that we overpaid on our quarterly taxes so we’re getting a big refund (Anel said I can’t use it to buy Chanel, bummer haha), I booked a family trip to Sarasota for April on miles so the whole thing ended up being free, I worked with a new photographer and loved her energy, and Anel and I had a great round of meetings for our next venture with Countdown Fitness. I can’t wait to share what we’re up to there! So basically all day Tuesday was my highest high ending with our at-home date night.
Lowest moment: I just finished a round of steroids for a long-standing health issue I’ve had (more on that next week) and they make me feel absolutely insane. For someone who already has anxiety, it just takes everything up about 10 notches. On Monday I had a full blown panic attack out of the blue and I know that the Prednisone was part of the problem, making my heart race. Thankfully I’m done with the medication for now and already feel more like myself.
Around the Web
J.Crew FACTORY spring arrivals (on sale!). A ton of new arrivals just hit their site and I’m loving them and their prices. Remember this dress (worn here)? It’s back and one of my all time faves. I also love this shirt dress and this darling striped tank top with bow sleeves. And these shorts will be my go-to all summer long. Get $20 off orders of $100 or more with code SPRINGY.
Goop the podcast. Of course GP has a podcast and of course it’s amazing. And of course Oprah was her first guest. If you haven’t listened yet, you should.
How’s your social life? I loved this article on Well + Good about how being more social is good for your health. Noted…
Wrap shirt. I love love love this new arrival at Nordstrom and just bought it last night. I can’t wait to wear it on vacay in April.
Parenthood in songs. This couple made a video montage of what parenthood is really like. Made me LOL!
The prettiest foyer. Mackenzie’s sun-drenched foyer is giving me life right now. It’s so gorgeous and would definitely be a space that I would love to walk into every day.
Striped maxi dress. I’m kind of madly in love with the dress I wore in yesterday’s post. I didn’t really talk about it much but the fit is so good and is perfect for travel.
A year of meditation. Carly meditated every day for a year and this is what happened. Knowing her personally, it’s been amazing to see how much calmer and happier she seems!
March reading list. Grace’s reading list for March is live and great as always. An American Marriage is next on my list based on her recommendation.
Currently reading. Speaking of reading lists, this week I finished Little Fires Everywhere and loved it. I was so excited to see that Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington are making it into a TV mini series! I also started The Great Alone, and although it has a slow start, everyone assures me it gets really good really quickly.
Bucket bag. This bag is so impractical but so cute for summer nights! I can’t stop looking at it…
2o mantras. The Chalkboard asked 20 inspirational women to share their mantras.

Thanks for including my meditation journey!!! xo
Of course! So impressed and inspired by it 🙂
I might need to try some Palo Santo. I could use some good vibes. I’m glad this week was better for you, and so sorry about the anxiety. I’ve been dealing with some of it myself and it’s just the yuckiest!
I’m so sorry you’re dealing with anxiety, I think I’m going to write another post about it soon because it’s been so intense for me too. Hang in there!
OH MY GOSH I’m so glad you shared your experience with prednisone – I recently had to take it for an allergic reaction and my husband and I ‘joked’ that I had legit ‘roid rage. I was so angry and irrational. That stuff is bonkers!
No it’s LITERAL ‘roid rage. I turned into an actual crazy person! So happy it’s over…
I’m on the waitlist for that book, I can’t wait to read it! I’ve heard so many positive reviews of it and her other novel. Thheres nothing like a new good book! xAllie http://www.theallthatglittersblog.com
Thanks for sharing about the Prednisone. I have an autoimmune issue that occasionally flares up requiring short courses of steroids. It’s so reassuring to know that you too have gone through this and managed (beautifully, I might add).
I’m so sorry that you have to go on it too. It’s so so rough but at the end of the day, it’s a pretty amazing drug that actually works! (For me anyway) xx
Glad to hear you’ve been having better days! Sending more positive vibes your way!
