Life Lately: Volume 21

Blue and White Outdoor Furniture

I gave you a bit of an update on my week yesterday. It has been a rough one for my physically (I can’t keep any food down that isn’t toast, rice or a smoothie), so I skipped posting on Wednesday which stressed me out at first, but ended up being a relief because I could take some time to let my body recover and heal. My doctor and acupuncturist both agreed that it was a combination of exhaustion from travel and lack of sleep mixed with my extreme heartburn/acid reflux.

They also both had the same advice which was to stay hydrated and eat bland foods, but a session with new acupuncturist, Sarah, helped more than anything else. I left her office yesterday feeling relaxed and healthy for the first time all week.

Today I’m finally fully pulling myself together today to fly to Charlotte for my cousin’s wedding. It will be a bittersweet weekend because of a loss this week in our family, but a beautiful time for us to be all together. This will be my last airplane trip before the baby comes, and I’m so excited by that fact! We’ve decided to take a little babymoon in June somewhere closer to home to make things easier. Stay tuned for more on that!

Another highlight of the week was that we finally set up our outdoor space which I’ll share with you in a week or two. In the meantime, you can see a little sneak peek above and below. I love how our tiny patio turned out. I’m hoping we can start enjoying it every night for al fresco dinners very soon.

Around the Web

Proud wife moment. My husband’s business was featured in a local paper with an amazing article earlier this week. I’m so proud of him!

Lemon love. I love J.Crew’s latest lemon print. This cardigan and shell are calling my name.

Old vs. young millennial. Because there is definitely a difference between the two.

The softest nightgown. I’ve been living in this super soft nightgown lately. I have the maternity/nursing version but they have a regular one and another one with short sleeves too. I promise you will never feel anything so soft!

Custom puppy art. I’ve been working with Megan Carn to create a custom print of Boots for the nursery. She shared a photo of the final product and I’m beyond happy with how it turned out. I can’t wait to hang it up.

20 healthy snacks that won’t leave you hungry. Yum!

Pink shorts. I want these amazing pink bow shorts so badly. I’m buying them for post-baby now because they’re too good not to.

How not to hate your husband. A reader recommended this book, and I’m so into it. It brings humor and great advice to a time that is crazy hard on any marriage.

And speaking of relationship advice… I loved this Tony Robbins article on being gentle with your partner. It’s such a good reminder.

Feliz loafer. M.Gemi just dropped a new shoe and it’s spot on as always. I love how these slides are easy to put on and take off… it’s getting harder and harder for me to bend down lately!

The best frozen margaritas. Bri whipped up the most beautiful frozen margaritas that I can’t wait to try them post-baby this summer.

White eyelet. This sweet white eyelet ruffle top is just too cute for words.

Self care during pregnancy. Not a luxury, but a necessity .

Skirt goals. I can’t believe that this button down striped skirt is only $68!

The anti-inflammatory food pyramid. Now this is a food pyramid I can get behind!

Gray Malin umbrellas. What can’t Gray Malin do? His latest collab with a high end outdoor umbrella company is so fab, I can’t even deal.

How to read nutrition labels. According to 15 healthy foodies.

Sail boats. How cute does Carly look in her Persifor sailboat dress?

Shop page. I updated my shop page with picks for May! Check it out.

A real tear jerker. If you missed Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue about his son’s heart surgery, I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to watch his story that is bound to pull on your heart strings.

I loved the Old vs. young millennial article and totally relate to the article linked within it “Wait, What, I’m a Millennial?”. I was shocked to find out I was a millennial! I had my kids young so technically I’m an old and my oldest son is the young and there are HUGE differences between me and my friends and he and his friends! 😀 Hope you’re feeling better for the weekend! xx Rox-Anne Celebrating This Life
