Looking back on my posts from 2018 for this post made me cry. It’s been a year of major personal growth, and when I look at photos from earlier in the year, I actually can’t believe how far I’ve come. I’ve focused most of the year on dealing with my anxiety head-on. The progress that I’ve made since I started therapy in March has been unreal, and spending the time and money on it has been the best decision I’ve made all year.
Most importantly, I’m a better mother and wife, but I’m also a better friend, blogger, sister, and daughter too.
Professionally, I had a good year but it was tough. My growth wasn’t as big as it has been in past years, and I think a big part of that is that on days when I was really anxious, my heart just wasn’t in it. Plus the fact that I spent a good deal of time working with Anel to open his business!
Now that I’m feeling way more on top of my mental health, I’m ready to hit the ground running in 2019 with a more organized approach to Lemon Stripes that includes some new series and more wellness and food content which seems to be really popular with you guys! Beyond that, I’d love to hear from you about what kind of content you want to see next year. If you fill out this survey, you’ll be entered to win one of three $100 Amex gift cards! It should only take you two minutes or less.
I’ll be back on January 2nd with all of my goals personally and professionally for 2019. In the meantime, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all of you for your support and for keeping Lemon Stripes alive. Sending you so much love and the happiest of holidays. I’ll see you next year!

Same to you, Katie!
Love your blog! I think it’s great that you took the time you needed for yourself, and that you’re open and honest about it! You can’t pour from an empty cup, and self care isn’t promoted (I think) like it should be. Mamas need a break too! Can’t wait for all your content in 2019!

Julia,
You’re my favorite blogger, and I can relate to so many of your posts. I grew up in CT, but now live in TX, and have a teen instead of a toddler (somedays it feels like I have a toddlers :P). As someone who battles anxiety and depression, I truly appreciate your honest posts about your experiences with anxiety, and how you cope. Looking forward to many more great posts. Wishing you and your family a beautiful and peaceful holiday season.
As I am approaching my due date with my first baby (early March!) your open and honest posts regarding motherhood are so helpful and reassuring. Thank you!
