After a rough holiday with COVID, the Dzafic family is slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things. But snow days and quarantine-related school closures have forced me to spend a lot less time working. At first, I was panicked, but now I'm focusing on accepting our situation and the fact that at least the next few months aren't going to look normal for work/life balance.
When we were sick in December, my neighbor brought me over a container full of her chicken pot pie soup. It was warm, comforting, flavorful, and everyone in the entire family loved it. I asked her for her recipe, which she told me is a mish-mosh of a few different recipes with some tweaks over the years.
As one of two kids, I always imagined growing up to be a mother of two. A family of four was all I knew and it felt right.
But because I suffered from pretty extreme anxiety post-partum after Amalia was born, there was a year or two when I didn't even know if two kids were in the cards for us.
Anel and I are celebrating 10 years (10 YEARS!) of marriage later this year. We have had lots of ups, many downs, and have somehow created a life and family that is more amazing than I ever could have dreamed of. Marrying him was one of the best decisions I've made, and he is the only person I can imagine sharing my life with.
