Two years ago, my friend Bailey brought me on a trip to Cancun on hotel points, so when the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island invited me and a friend for a visit to the lovely little island off of Florida, I returned the favor and brought her with me for a gloriously luxurious and relaxing long weekend.

Earlier this week, I had a really bad day. Like one of the worst. Let me explain: I woke up to my poor little pup having diarrhea all over his bed (and himself). Having never had my own dog before, this was not something that I knew how to deal with in a graceful way.

This is the last of the three looks that I shot in LA and probably my favorite. When I'm in Venice Beach, I always feel like I need to have a more boho vibe but this look is obviously more preppy and way more me. I may have stuck out like a sore them on Abbot Kinney where we took these photos, but I just adore the matching prints and textures in my striped shirt and eyelet midi skirt.

The first two days in LA were chillier than I had hoped. I arrived just after a heat wave ended so my dreams of laying on the beach were squandered pretty quickly upon landing. The bright side was that I finally had a great excuse to wear this gorgeous blue and white embroidered tunic that I'd been dying to wear for a while now.

This outfit epitomizes my trip to Los Angeles last week. On my way there I was feeling cold, tired, and overwhelmed with my big change to working from home. I was getting a cold and felt pretty lousy in general. On my way back, I felt rejuvenated, happy, relaxed, and sunshine-y (the official term).
