2.5 Years with Amalia

Last Friday, Amalia turned two and a half. When I told her that she's two and a half now, she responded with: No mommy, I'm two. On my birthday I gonna be three. And that's my child, in a nutshell. Literal AF.

Doctors estimate that 80% of Americans will experience lower back pain sometime in their lives, myself included for the last decade. The pain can be crippling, limiting your day-to-day activities so that even standing up or sitting down can be painful. Trust me, I've been there. I get back spasms regularly and they're not fun. But with Anel's help, I get them much less often than I used to.

Power Butter

One of the ways that I process grief is that I become obsessed with getting nutrients into my body. When my grandma passed last month, it became a little out of control but during those few weeks, I started to think more about easy ways to make small changes to the foods I eat regularly that give them a little healthy kick.

How I Beat S.A.D.

Coming back from my girl's trip to Florida was a shock to the system, to say the least. We flew from an 85-degree morning at the beach to a casual 19-degree snowstorm. But the dark skies and cold temps didn't get me down. I was still riding the high of our sunny days splashing in the pool.
