The first time I made this 101 Cookbooks Otsu recipe was in 2011 according to an email I sent to my sister about how great it was. The recipe has been passed around my family and friend groups so many times that no one even remembers where it started... Don't worry, I do. It was me.

Decor Inspiration for Our New House

We've been living in our house for exactly a week and Amalia has finally started calling it home. For the first few days, she would cry whenever I told her we were going home, and then I realized that she thought our new house was called "new house" and our old house was called home. The sudden change in her semantics feels like a metaphor for how we all feel after settling in a bit.

Memories in our Old House

Today is the day! It is the first day we’re spending in our new home and it still feels so surreal. Yesterday as the movers were packing up all of our stuff, I sat in our backyard and wrote down some of my favorite memories from living in our old house. I'm excited for our future but tears streamed down my face as I remembered some truly magical moments in our home.
